ABOUT VILLA VALE DA PONTE
Luxury home on the Portuguese Silver Coast
Foz do Arelho is a pearl of a village located right on the Atlantic Ocean and one of the most beautiful lagoons of the west coast. Wonderful for walking, cycling, surfing, relaxing on the endless fine sandy beach, playing golf at 20 minutes and enjoying a glass by a beautiful sunset on the terraces of one of the various bars and restaurants.
But Foz do Arelho is also the base for discovering the beautiful Silver Coast, COSTA DA PRATA. The west coast of Portugal at 1 hour drive from Lisbon.
In contrast to the Algarve, the Silver Coast has not yet been discovered by the general public and therefore houses a wealth of authentic villages, an unspoilt coastline with long white beaches and low dunes, rocky coasts on a wild ocean and, just to the green inland, atmospheric castles, monasteries and ruins that are part of Portugal’s rich historical heritage.
Our villa can be rented per week (Saturday to Saturday) in high season. Other periods are negotiable. We also offer discounts for consecutive weeks and repeated bookings. (-5% first extra week, -10% second extra week,…)
High season runs from the last week of June to the first week of September.
Mid season: Easter, crocus, autumn and Christmas holidays; May to the last week of June, 2nd week of September to the end of October
All other periods are considered low season.
Viviane & Steve
Hardworking bon vivants. We have fallen for the Portuguese nature, culture and rich history, good wines and surprisingly modern cuisine. Charmed by the bustling Lisbon and the proud but friendly Portuguese.
Because we ourselves cannot enjoy our villa all the time, we offer it for rent for a stress-free and enjoyable holiday.

Testimonials
The house is spacious and well equipped, perfect for completely relaxing.
Although the Lagoon nearby was fantastic we also really enjoyed the pool. The evenings at the petanque court will stay with me for a long time!
With the girlfriends I was able to tick off a top holiday in Villa Vale Da Ponte! The brand new house is equipped with every luxury and comfort so that we could enjoy the enchanting environment carefree. We had many enjoyable apero moments at the beautifully landscaped terrace and pool. The fact that the local traders, restaurants and the dazzling lagoon are within walking distance is certainly a plus!
It is really enjoying here! Yesterday we visited Sintra and Belem. Today nice trip to Obidos and later dinner at Tavola. So many nice kings and everything is so close. That combined with a great house and pool is really the perfect vacation.
Super nice villa with everything we needed. Small ice cream parlor less than a minute’s walk away and a super-sized beach nearby. Spacious terrace with large swimming pool. We’ll be back!
It was a super cool stay. We enjoyed, saw a lot, ate etc Your location as well as the house is just perfect!
Really nice house! For people in their 60s, they do have a very good and young taste in furnishings.
At leisure discovered the house and it must be said, it is truly beautiful. From the pool to the beautiful bathrooms to the laundry corner! Our julie is already totally convinced … this is what she wants at home too…..

Large beach
Amazing very large Atlantic beach with fine white sand and slopes into the Atlantic Ocean. Foz do Arelho is part of the ancient medieval Lagoa de Obidos, with a large estuary that is calm and warm, ideal for water games with children. The beach has a very clean infrastructure, with clean toilets and good showers. You can easily rent a tent and enjoy the mighty ocean and the fine white beach. You can also enjoy the long promenade, which is equipped with some typical beachrestaurant terraces.
Weather
The weather on the Costa de Prata is on average mild: not too hot in summer and not too cold in winter. Partly due to the sea, it is cooler in the summer than inland with an average, ideal temperature of 25-26 degrees Celsius.
Eat Drink
There are many things available within walking distance or a short drive by car.
Ranging from breakfast, ice cream, cocktail bars, beach bistros,… to fine restaurants.
Walks
At the end of the VARIANTE ATLANTICA the extension of the AVENIDA ATLANTICA the road OF CALDAS DA RAINHA ending at the ocean you will find the MIRADOURA DA FOZ Do ARELHO. A pallisade walk with a magnificent view of the lagoon and ocean. A must do! Hike all the way down and enjoy the beautiful scenery, 50 minutes round trip.
In NAZARE: walk to the farol, lighthouse on the Praya Norte; AT THE TOP OF THE CHURCH SQUARE with a magnificent view of the praya sul. Pay a visit to the lighthouse 1€, where you can see legendary surfboards and pictures of the world surfing champions. Nazaré is in fact the Walhala for surfers from all over the world. The world championships are held here from November to January.
You can walk all the way to the PRAIA NORTE, 1 hour there and back.
Golf
Across the lagoon at a 20 minute drive you find the 4 major golf courses of the West coast. Royal Obidos Golf Club/Evolutée, Bom Sucesso, West Cliffs and Praya del Rey.
Even if you do not play Golf, it is worth checking out the other side of the lagoon. Nearby the West Cliffs (good restaurant) you can enjoy a nice walk on the Praya do Rey Cortiço.
Costa de Prata, the Silver Coast
The Costa de Prata or Silver Coast of Portugal has not yet been discovered by major tourism. Altough this region has a lot to offer. A fascinating mix of beautiful beaches, rugged rocky coasts, fishing villages, historic towns and nature.
